The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of New Zealand has deployed a new service suite for its telecommunications service portal to help improve inter-agency communication.
The agency now uses one.govt Wide Area Network (WAN) for transferring voice, video and data traffic; high speed internet access; a secure WAN providing encryption for sensitive information; and an inter-agency service to connect with other participating organisations, encouraging collaboration.e.govt.nz |
Open Network Environment for Government (one.gov) is a telecommunications service that connects the offices of state agencies in New Zealand. More than 300 offices from 12 agencies in New Zealand are using one.govt network.
- It helps agencies to achieve cost savings through collective buying and provides a platform to integrate other solutions such as voice, video, security and storage.
“We saw an opportunity to get communication solution for a reduced price over our investment before, “Devitt said adding that the news system will help the agency deliver better efficiency.
He said the agency has limited resources to efficiently manage their own telecommunications platform.
The solution offers a number of benefits over an on-premise system, including reduced setup costs, increased flexibility and scalability, improved security, and enhanced continuity of service.
The service also offers a number of optional components including hosted voicemail, advanced IP telephony monitoring and reporting, call accounting and presence. As a fully managed offering, the service contract includes support, monitoring, reporting and administration.
