Higher Management Committee approves decision to shut down 67 typing offices

The Higher Management Committee at the Emirates Identity Authority has approved a decision to shut down 67 typing offices across the UAE.

During its regular meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of H.E. Dr. Eng. Ali Mohamed Al Khouri, Emirates ID Director General, the Higher Management Committee explained that these offices were shut down because some of them did not abide by the agreement related to the standard of service while other offices made mistakes in the customers' data and others collected extra fees on customers' transactions.

This decision comes as part of the Emirates Identity Authority's ongoing follow-up and regular assessment of the performance of typing offices and

is based on the Emirates Identity Authority's keenness on providing high-quality and superb services to all applicants and customers who deal with typing offices for filling out the e-form required for registration for ID cards and Population Register.

Meanwhile, the Higher Management Committee instructed that all efforts be exerted for expediting the delivery of ID cards to applicants while ensuring that ID cards are re-sent to Emirates Post for delivery to their respective owners through the post office boxes (registered mail service).

The Higher Management Committee praised the diligent efforts exerted by the registration centers' employees, stressing the importance of their role in training the typing offices.

The Higher Management Committee also discussed all the agenda items for which the appropriate decisions and recommendations were made.
