Chance To 'Like' Winning Name For Brunei's E-Govt Portal

Bandar Seri Begawan - The E-Government National Centre (EGNC) will be launching Brunei's first E-Government Portal for a complete one-stop-shop for online government services and information. The portal will eventually host all the E-Government services such as electrical bill payment, application and renewal of licenses and passports, renewal of road tax and many more. With the introduction of this portal, the increasingly tech-savvy Brunei public can now obtain updated information on government services and manage their tasks with greater convenience and simplicity.

The EGNC invited the public in December 2010, to help them name their new portal through a contest on the phenomenally popular social medium - Facebook. With half of Brunei's population connected to Facebook, EGNC hopes to engage the public to enter the contest via their fanpage on the social site.

Members of the public were invited to submit their entries between December 20, 2010 and January 31, 2011. From the total of 400 entries received, five names were short-listed by the contest committee for public voting. These five entries are posted on the EGNC page on Facebook, where the public can vote for their favourite name.

Users need to register on the EGNC page on Facebook by clicking the "Like" button and they can subsequently view all five entries on the "Brunei National Portal Naming Contest" album. They can vote for their favourite name by clicking the eLike' button below the picture. Voting ends on Sunday, February 13, 2011, at 12 midnight.

The winner with the most "liked" name will receive a coveted Apple iPad 16GB 3G+WiFi Edition with a Krusell Case. Canon Powershot A495 Cameras will be given out as consolation prizes and lucky voters can look forward to receiving a 2GB Apple iPod Shuffle.
