Prime Minister Mohammed Naji Otri on Monday chaired the 3rd meeting of the E-Government Initiative Steering Committee, reviewing the implementation of e-government services to be provided by the program.
The meeting approved a temporary launch of e-government initiative services including data on governmental services that could be provided and the communication interface standards.
Proposals for electronic payment system, smart cards, road navigation system and distance learning project were also on the table.
The e-government initiative comes within the government's efforts to improve institutions' work, automate services and save time and expense.
