Turkey, Georgia facilitate visa-free travels

Passport check-points were cancelled and Georgian citizens can live in Turkey with identity card one year

Turkish and Georgian citizens will enjoy with visa-free travels between the two countries carrying only identity cards, but not passports.


Turkish diplomatic sources told APA the work on this issue is completed and the citizens of each country can live in the territory of other one year without relevant permission.

It will be enough for the Georgian citizens to have Roman-typed identity cards and the Georgian government agencies are working now on this issue.

Earlier the Georgian citizens were allowed to live in Turkey three months without relevant permission, but Azerbaijani citizens live in Turkey two months without special permission. The travelers, whose time of permission expired, are deported from the country and their entrance to Turkey is banned for long time.
